## Algebra 1 word problem

**Introduction**

**:**

The algebra 1 topics are introduced to build concepts for all higher math classes. This part covers the algebra expressions, integers, and mathematical properties. This is help to functioning with variables and linear equations. And more about learn graphing, polynomials, quadratic equations, data analysis and systems of equations. This is based on the regular study with practice problems.

Algebra 1 word problem explanations:

Here we will learn about the algebra 1 word problems

**Example:**

1. Sum of three consecutive even numbers is 54. Find the numbers

**Solution**

Let the first even number be x. The second and third even numbers are (x+2) and (x+4)

x + (x+2) + (x+4)=54

x+x+2+x+4=54

3x + 6=54

3x=54-6

3x=48

x =16

So the three consecutive odd numbers are 16, 18, 20

**Example2:**

Assignment problem for solving inequalities?

Solving inequality is the related way of solving the equation but we have to remember that if we multiply or divide by a negative number means we want to reverse the inequality symbol.

1, -3x > 27

**Solution:**

Step 1 : In this problem there is multiplication so, we must use the inverse or division to solve the problem.

So, we will multiply -4 on both sides in order to leave x alone in left side.

-3x > 27

-3 -3

Here we have divide by negative number so, we have to remember to reverse the symbol

It gives x is less than -9 not x is greater than -9

We Get: X < - 9

Algebra 1 word problem for practice:

The given word problem into symbolic representation

1. A box contains 5 apples,another 5 apples are added to the box find number of apples in the box.

**Solution;**

Step1: apple in hand =5

Step2: We add 5 apples to 5 apples

Step3: the final apple 5+5 apple =10 apples

Finding answer for x values in grade1 algebra problems

2.3x = 12

**Solution:**

3x/3=12/3

We divide 3 on both sides

x=12/3

Answer x = 4

3. 6 – c = 2

We add -6 on both sides

-c = 2-6

Multiply with - sign

Answer c = 4

4. The ½ add to the ¾ what is the answer for this problem?

**Solution;**

Step1: we add ½ to ¾

Step2: find common factor for 2,4 is 4

Step3: the final answer is we multiply ½ both side is 2

Step3: the final answer is 2/4+3/4 =5/4

5. The ages of a daughter and mother are in the ratio 2:8. If the daughter is 24 years younger than her mother, find their ages

**Solution:**

Let the age of the daughter be 2x

And the age of mother be 8x

8x-2x=35

6x=24

x=4

So the age of daughter is 8(2*4) and the mother is 32(8*4)
